Shortstripe Goby
Description:
Elacatinus chancei is a powder blue colored goby with a pale underside. A yellow stripe runs through the eyes on each side of the goby, terminating above the origin of the pectoral fins.
Natural Ecology:
Unlike other species of this genus, the Shortstripe goby is not a cleaner goby.
Indigenous To:
Natural range includes the Bahamas and the Eastern Caribbean.
Behavior:
Prefers to perch at the opening of a crevice with its head protruding.
Compatability: Ideal scavenger in reef aquariums.
Food: Proaquatix specimens have been weaned to take aquarium pellets and flakes. Freshly frozen invertebrates such as ocean plankton, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and chopped squid will be readily accepted.
