neondottyback

Neon Dottyback
Description: An orange-colored dottyback with a blue stripe that runs along the dorsal body, fins, and dorsal caudal fin. Two additional short blue stripes appear on the head.

Natural Ecology: Pseudochromis aldabraensis is a carnivore of worms and other small invertebrates. This species is highly territorial towards conspecifics.

Indigenous To: Eastern coast of Africa, southwards to South Africa.

Behavior: Often seen near an area where a quick retreat into rocks is possible.

Compatability: Usually ignores corals and most invertebrates. They may attack tiny shrimps, but are useful to curb the proliferation of bristleworms.

Food: Proaquatix specimens have been weaned to take aquarium pellets and flakes. Freshly frozen invertebrates such as ocean plankton, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and chopped squid will be readily accepted.
